Owner Dan Ballentine, Jr. has been in and around the water well industry his entire life and has been involved with sealing hundreds of water wells. We are fully insured and are licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
Generally, a well needs to be sealed if it's no longer in use, is contaminated, the house is being demolished, city water has been installed, or it's illegally constructed. It involves pressure-grouting neat cement through a tremie line placed to the bottom of the well. Hand-dug wells may be sealed by an alternate method. Per New Jersey regulations, ALL abandoned wells must be decommissioned by, or in the presence and under the on-site supervision of, a well driller of the proper class (ask to see the license before anything begins). After the sealing is complete, a report is filed with the NJDEP and the final report, once reviewed and approved by the NJDEP, is sent to the property owner and local health department authority.
Call our office at 908-689-7666, or my cell phone at 908-432-4587, if you're interested in getting a well sealed or would like a free estimate. We can also explain the steps involved, including gathering well information, getting NJDEP seal approval, local permit and inspection (if applicable), the sealing process, day two follow-up, and report submittals.
Abandoned water well sealing is ALL we do. Your job will receive our undivided attention.
We serve all of Warren County NJ, North and Central Hunterdon County NJ, Southern Sussex County, much of Morris County, and Northern Somerset County. Any other areas, feel free to call and inquire!
